CRI's Love For Money
See also, Does God Have Faith?, an article on some of Hank Hanegraaff's false doctrine.
In Feburary 2012 on CRI's home page Hank is quoted saying,
Whenever I create a new resource, my first thought is how to share it with you as soon as possible . . . (see PDF copy)
When you click the link to "Read More" you find Hanegraaff's letter which begins with,
Dear Partner in Truth,
Whenever I create a new resource, my first thought is how to share it with you as soon as possible—because the desire to equip you to think Christianly about every issue you face motivates each new project, and also because your generous, prayerful support helps make every resource possible. (see PDF copy)
What motivates Hank (2 Peter 2:14) is not his desire "to equip . . . to think Christianly," but rather to get that "generous, . . . support" (2 Peter 2:14 "trained in covetous practices"). Hank is a liar.
If Hank truly were wanting "to share it with you as soon as possible" he would put the "resource" out for free (Matthew 10:8), but instead his newsletter admits,
This special origins issue is available by donation only. (click here to see newsletter)
It is "by donation only," because they are money hungry and don't care one ounce about anyone's spiritual welfare (as the hirling, who is in it for the money, John 10:12). If they did, if Hank truly wanted "to share it with you as soon as possible," he (they) could easily make it available for free online as a PDF download. And, since they already have a website, it would cost them vitually nothing. But, no, they demand a donation, if you are to obtain this "resouce" that is supposed to help you "think Christianly." Obviously, if you care not to give, they also care not to give.
CRI not only has their teaching for sale (books, etc.), they just come right out and beg for your money! This is something we never do (2 Corinthians 2:17).
As for wanting your money, . . . CRI has no shame asking for yours!
In another letter dated April 8, 2001 Hank writes this:
2 Peter 2
1 But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. 2And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber.
