Stine Road Baptist Is Stone Dead

Update: Eric Hann is no longer the pastor of Stine Road Baptist Church. He now pastors Bethel Baptist Church, 855 Brotherton, Escondido, CA 92025; ph. # 760-745-4995; www.bethelbaptistesc.org. Other matters, we have not confirmed if they are still into, but this report has been left, for now, as is, so that people can at least see what this church was into and has never repented of to our knowledge.]

Stine Road Baptist Church, located at 3001 Stine Road, Bakersfield, CA 93309, has an outward appearance of life, especially with their "lively" pastor with his entertaining performance of preaching with props, but the fact of the matter is, they are following someone who is "twice dead" (Jude 12).

I. Denies The Power Of Godliness

On February 14, 1999, we visited Stine Road Baptist Church, and after the service we spoke with their Pastor, Eric Hann. In our conversation with Mr. Hann, he could not tell us whether or not a homosexual was saved or not! We attempted to correct him instructing him from the Word of God that Scripture is very clear that homosexuals are not Christians (i.e. don't know God, are not saved, are not on their way to heaven, but rather hell). But, Mr. Hann refused to consent to wholesome words (1 Timothy 6:3-6).

In fact, Hann even told us that a person who was living (unrepentantly) in adultery could actually be on their way to heaven while they are living in adultery! This is absolutely ludicrous! The Scriptures are not unclear on this. God warns,

He who says, 'I know Him' and does not keep His commandments, is a liar and the truth is not in him. (1 John 2:4)

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither ...homosexuals ... nor adulterers ... will inherit the kingdom of God. (1 Corinthians 6:9-10)

For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, ... has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. (Ephesians 5:5-6)

Eric Hann is a deceiver!

In case you wondered whether Mr. Hann actually believed this way, ask him yourself (661-833-4345). If he gives you another story, we sure would like to hear it, because this is the garbage he gave us.

Besides the above example of denying the power of godliness (2 Timothy 3:5), Mr. Hann (and Stine Road Baptist Church), further exemplifies that they are a place of death by their promotion of "HIS WAY OUT MINISTRIES".

"HIS WAY OUT MINISTRIES" (661-833-3462) follows after the 12 step approach in dealing with the sins of homosexuality, adultery, and fornication, having their own form (13 or 17 step) based on the 12 steps. Most people are deceived by this 12 step approach thinking that there is nothing wrong with it. When considering this, consider who these 12 steps came from!

II. Twelve Steps Away From Christ

Mr. Bill Wilson is the founder of Alcoholics Anonymous (A.A.) and creator of the twelve step program. Mr. Wilson was heavily influenced by demons. Chapter sixteen (p. 275f) of 'Pass It On' The Story of Bill Wilson and how the A.A. message reached the world records Mr. Wilson's use of the ouija board, participation in seances, psychic events, "spook sessions", table levitation, and how he would receive "messages" from "discarnate" spirits. Bill Wilson was clearly in contact with demons, and this is the man who created the deceptive twelve step program.

These twelve steps are a deceitful attack against the saving work of the Lord Jesus Christ (i.e. they are against Christ, antichrist, 2 John 7; Colossians 2:8-10). The twelve steps are (as Mr. Wilson used them) given as an answer (a way) in which one can overcome sin (with Mr. Wilson's case, the sin of drunkenness). Jesus Christ is the ONLY answer for sin. He is the only way (John 14:6). There is only ONE "step", and that is faith in the Savior (Ephesians 2:8/Matthew 1:21/John 8:36/Romans10:13)! To add 12 steps to the gospel of Jesus Christ is to proclaim "another gospel" (Galatians 1:8-9), and it will do nothing for the soul except insure its destruction (Revelation 22:15).

Moreover, Stine Road further exemplifies their deadness by their promotion of Promise Keepers.

III. Promise Keepers

Promise Keepers embraces Catholicism as "Christian", and thus a way that leads to life (see Jack Hayford's statement on page 19 of the book Seven Promises of a Promise Keeper). This is a damning lie. Such an embrace excludes truth (i.e. Jesus Christ, John 14:6), because Catholicism is filled with lies (worship of the Saints, a false christ, etc.). On this alone, Stine Road Baptist Church exemplifies they are on the broad way that leads to destruction (Matthew 7:13-14), and are not ones who have received "the love of the truth that they might be saved" (2 Thessalonians 2:10).
